Museum of Ice Cream

Is art influencing Instagram, or is Instagram influencing art? I can't tell. And I don't know if I think it's cool or gross, but I know my kids are ALL IN, and I have friends who are willing to play, so I'm going to enjoy the ride. And you know what? It was a great ride. Super fun, actually.

The Museum of Ice Cream is an interactive pop-up that started in New York, and tickets sold out in just 2 hours. Now it's our turn. Visiting this place is like going on a pink acid trip with Willy Wonka -- with its themed rooms, scratch 'n sniff wallpaper, and smiling lifeguards telling you the rules of the sprinkle pool.

The trip started with the docents inquiring about everyone's favorite ice cream flavors, then offering us chocolates out of the candy cart. Next thing I know, we are all on pink phones listening to Seth Rogen talk to us, jumping up and down at his request, and yelling out flavors when he tells us to. From here, we were served earl grey ice cream, and treats like charcoal cookie dough, mint mochi, pink pancakes, and gummy bears from local shops. The guards and employees all seemed like college kids cheerfully working a summer job, giving us the thumbs up, and offering to take pictures. There were swings, ping pong, ice-cream inspired art installations, and a claw machine filled with iPhone cases. What the pictures below can't convey is the smell of mint from the mint garden room, so for the full experience, get out your peppermint essential oil, and inhale it while looking at this post. All in all, it was a sweet field trip.

We all Scream (and pose) for ice cream
